Rates & Fees
"What do we charge for our services?"
The truthful answer is: "It depends."
Every situation is unique. Every account is different. Many engagements are simple and straightforward. Other cases are naturally more complex than others. It's not just the time and energy applied, but the trust and expertise that provide our clients with value.
Simply stated, our fees somewhat higher than rural accountants, but are competitive with the industry and are generally a fraction of the 'big boys'.
TAX RETURNS: If we prepared your income tax forms last year, and this year's forms involve the same amount of work, our fee will generally be the same. If you are a new client, or someone other than us prepared your returns last year, then to give you an accurate estimate we'll need a copy of your most recent forms with an explanation of complications involved in the current year's forms. Our tax preparation fees include complete preparation of Federal, CO State, and all other state tax forms.
There are several factors that impact the fees associated with our services. For example, the timing of the services, the estimated amount of time to perform the service and the risks involved with our services all contribute to the fee. Our goal is to provide our services at rates that are fair and extremely competitive.
We absolutely work hard to keep our overhead costs to a bare minimum. Larger firms have overhead costs that significantly impact the fees they charge to their clients. BORNHOFEN CPA does not have the infrastructure cost related to business development, marketing, information technology, administrative, and legal expenses. Therefore, our clients receive a benefit from this in the form of lower fees. The traditional "busy season" for most accountants occurs during the early spring months. Because BORNHOFEN CPA performs services all year long, additional cost savings can be passed onto our clients.
As every industry professional will confirm, the first time we perform bookkeeping or accounting services for a client, the initial setup time is the most labor intensive, and therefore, the most expensive. However, clients that continue to retain our services over multiple months or years, generally save the most money.
A client can also save money by combining several services into one agreement. For example, if we are already preparing your annual tax return, engaging us to perform your bookkeeping would result in a significant cost savings as we have already gained familiarity with your situation and prepared your information in the format that we will easily lend itself to additional tasks.
Regardless of which services we perform for you, ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS: We never 'overcharge', and we always deliver superior value with prompt & friendly service.
